Your Concierge Physician’s Summer Newsletter Part 3 Protect Your Eyes

July 6, 2014

The UVA and UVB rays from the sun damage the eyes as well as the skin. You want to make sure that your glasses and sunglasses filter out both UVA and UVB light. Make sure you wear your sunglasses when you were out in the sun even if it is in the morning or later in the afternoon. Sunglasses can also help keep pollen out of your eyes. Large wraparound sunglasses work best to help lessen the symptoms from allergies. Sunglasses also help protect the delicate skin of the eyelids from damage which can cause cancer. In addition to wearing your sunglasses that filter out both UVA and UV B light be sure to get your annual eye exam.
